PROACTIVE PROTECTION: OUR PRE- AND POST-EMERGENT APPLICATIONS DELIVER RESULTS
We offer a seven-treatment lawn program that includes both pre-emergent and post-emergent weed prevention and control applications. Our lawn care programs are designed to safeguard against various weeds that can compromise the health and beauty of your lawn.
While pre-emergent is typically applied in the spring to prevent weed germination, post-emergent can be applied as needed throughout the year whenever weeds are actively growing. Pre-emergent weed control is a proactive approach used to prevent weed germination before it starts. Our pre-emergent treatments create a barrier around seeds, inhibiting their ability to sprout and grow. This approach is especially effective against stubborn weeds which can quickly take over lawns if left untreated. Our post-emergent weed control tackles existing weeds that have already sprouted. These treatments target weeds at the root, ensuring they're eradicated from your lawn. Together, these treatments form a powerful one-two punch against weeds, ensuring a healthy lawn.
KEY FEATURES OF OUR ANNUAL PROGRAM
WEED PREVENTION & CONTROL
To improve protection, our team applies pre-emergent herbicides year-round. These treatments effectively prevent germinating weeds from establishing roots, offering long-lasting residual coverage. Our licensed technicians use post-emergent herbicides to tackle any resilient weeds that have sprouted despite the pre-emergent treatment.
The primary purpose of pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides is indeed weed prevention and control. However, our high-quality pre-emergent and post-emergent applications can indirectly serve other purposes as well:
PROMOTES HEALTHY GROWTH
By preventing weed competition, pre-emergent herbicides allow desirable plants to access essential nutrients, water, and sunlight more effectively, promoting their healthy growth.
REDUCES ALLERGENS
Weeds can produce pollen and other allergens that can trigger allergic reactions in people. Controlling weeds with herbicides can help reduce the presence of these allergens in the environment.
IMPROVES AESTHETIC APPEAL
A weed-free lawn or landscape generally looks more visually appealing and well-maintained, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the property.
PREVENTS SOIL EROSION
Some aggressive weeds have extensive root systems that can help stabilize soil. By controlling these weeds, herbicides can indirectly contribute to preventing soil erosion, especially on slopes or disturbed areas.
PREVENTS HABITAT FOR PESTS
Weeds can provide shelter and breeding grounds for pests like insects and rodents. By eliminating weeds, herbicides can help reduce the habitat available to these pests, potentially lowering pest populations.
OUR PROVEN 7-STEP PROGRAM
1
ROUND ONE
In the first treatment, we apply winter pre-emergent to prepare for spring weeds. This pre-emergent prevents germinating seeds from breaking through the soil. If necessary, we also address any existing weeds with spot spraying.
2
ROUND TWO
We apply another layer of pre-emergent to maintain the barrier against germinating seedlings during your second treatment. While there should be no weeds by this point, we continue to spot-treat any that manage to break through.
3
ROUND THREE
We administer the first fertilizer treatment tailored to your grass type during this application. We also remain vigilant for any weed breakthroughs and begin monitoring grass more closely for diseases as temperatures rise and rainfall increases.
4
ROUND FOUR
As we progress into the fourth round of treatment, our focus remains on nurturing your lawn's vibrancy. Alongside continued fertilization, we target emerging weeds with spot spraying, ensuring that your lawn maintains its lush green appearance.
5
ROUND FIVE
Entering the fifth round, we continue to focus on grass health and vibrancy. That means additional fertilization to keep it lush. We also make sure it's getting adequate water and address any weed intrusions through targeted spot spraying.
6
ROUND SIX
In the sixth round, we fortify your turf against the changing seasons with a final application of fertilizer. This round helps to ensure resilience and strength in the coming months. Persistent weeds are also spot spraying as needed.
7
ROUND SEVEN
In our last round, we apply a winter pre-emergent to target weeds like poa annua and rescue grass. We also spot spray any existing resilient weeds to ensure your lawn enters the off-season in top condition.
